U.S., Colombian armies conclude virtual PISAJ14

PISAJ, an acronym in Spanish for “Programa Integral Para Suboficiales de Alta Jerarquia,” is a U.S. Army South-hosted comprehensive program for senior noncommissioned officers in the U.S. and Colombian armies designed to increase capacity and regional collaboration. This year, PISAJ 14 included senior NCOs from Brazil and Mexico.

15th Annual U.S.-Chilean Army Staff Talks concludes with optimism for 2021 training opportunities

Maj. Gen. Daniel R. Walrath, center, U.S. Army South commanding general, addresses senior leaders of the Chilean Army at the conclusion of the 15th Annual U.S.-Chilean Army Staff Talks, held virtually from Nov. 16-18. Walrath signed a bilateral engagement plan that included more than 45 Agreed-to-Actions for the upcoming year to conduct various activities with each other’s army. Army South, the Army Service Component Command for U.S. Southern Command, conducts these staff talks on behalf of the Chief of Staff of the Army.

Planning in Crisis event allows ARSOUTH, multinational planners to prepare for PANAMAX

Military officers from Brazil, Colombia and Peru conduct mission analysis as part of the Planning in Crisis exercise Oct. 28 hosted by U.S. Army South and held at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Oct. 26-30. The exercise allowed partner nations from the Western Hemisphere to plan and develop an operation order with component commands in preparation for the U.S. Southern Command PANAMAX exercise.

PANAMAX is an annual U.S. Southern Command-sponsored training exercise series with the objective of demonstrating the capability of participating nations to conduct coalition operations and is focused on ensuring the security of the Panama Canal and the surrounding region.
