“NCOs conduct the daily operations of the Army, they are the vanguard for leading and developing Soldiers,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Trevor Walker during the opening ceremony of PISAJ 14 on Nov. 9 at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas. “NCOs are relied on to execute complex tactical operations, make intent driven decisions, and operate in joint inner agencies and multinational environments. Based on these few examples on how important NCOs are to our Army and what we have learned though our history, NCO development requires investment of time and vigorous effort to ensure we equip NCO leaders with the skills necessary to be successful. U.S. Army South is committed to NCO leader development and to our strategic partner’s efforts to do the same. I hope everyone participating gets something out of this and it is beneficial for you.”
